the os will be on the hd drive
no if you put a os disk in the floppy drive it will always boot from that first
no it does not matter if the faulty disk is still connected
but i would recomend removing power cable from hd as if its faulty it could cause damage to psu if the motor is stuck

Subject: [emax] Boot sequence, Emax HD
Hi
Working on getting an old Emax HD (rack) going. I know that the internal HD is faulty, and now I'm trying to load the OS via the floppy (with EMAX-formatted DD floppys).
But my question is this: Is the OS originally placed on the HD on the HD models?
And if this is faulty, will the EMAX automatically try to load OS from an inserted floppydisk? Or is there anything els I need to do (changing the SCSIid's or something)?
And last - If the OS can be loaded by floppy, does it matter if the faulty internal HD still is connected inside?
Thanks for any advise.
Niklas
