  Hi There
do not put the disk in the floppy drive so it will search for the one on the HD.
  Cheers

I have the OS2.42 boot disc (the latest OS) for the EIII. I've set
the scsi id this way: floppy id=0, hd=1 and EIII=6 but the EIII
won't boot from the ST51080N hd. I have also formattet the hd and
copyed the software from diskette to hd, but the EIII won't boot
from the hd only from floppy. I can access banks on the hd and
access any module via the frontpanel but just won't boot.

Do you know the jumper settings on the Seagate ST51080N hd?

I'm thinking about putting the hd to an external hd-case and I would
want to disconnect the power of the center ventilator which cools
the hd (because of the noise), would you advise me not to disconnet
the ventilator maybe because of the heat level on the pcb boards?

    Thanx

    Brian
