Re: [emax] Re: static white noise sound on top of EMAX 1 RACKMOUNT samples

thats normal from the separate outs as each one is from a voice of the echip

so it needs to have 8 presses between each note press unless
you defeat channels to the actual channel

if its only on the stereo channel the stereo channel has left and right channel from each voice chip its the filter voice chip has a 4 pole filter and 3 vca

one vca is for the vca contour the other 2 are panning vca and the direct out is before the panning vca which is all incorporated inside the filter voice chip

after the voice chip the left right signal go to a resistor summing network and the to a ne5532 opamp if the single outputs are ok then it could be the cv 8bit dac that is at fault i have had several voiceboards with bad cv dacs

and only the sound was coming out of one channel and was noisy

i have also had to change the ne5532 opamp

again i used a logic analyzer and a scope to find these problems

I isolated the problem to only the stereo outs. I I can assign sounds to the other outputs, but there still must be dead voice chips too, because when I assign sound to some of the outputs I have to hit the key a few times before the sample will play.
