funny reading...

2003-07-22 by moose

its quite funny now reading about the "huge" potential of 8mb ram & 40mb
hard drive... how times change. the online adverts show just how lucky we
are in these days of the big samplers a la e4xt & z8's.

anyways, i see that the emax manual is in this forum's files page, but not
for the emax ii. how similar are they & is it worth me reading the original
or will i be too confused...? not that i'll be using this new baby for too
much sampling - probably just for live work as i have the 2 e4xt's i
mentioned in the last (first) email.

question : anyone using the fujitsu 230mb optical drive with the emax ii?
its one of the few drives i can seem to plug in *anywhere* & it works. my
e4xt ultra has the upgraded 15gb internal ata drive but i've added an apple
cd-rom & the fujitsu 230mb optical into a glyph case i was given as it was
"broken". only a few loose leads! its always good to back up data onto
another drive & these fujitsu's are great - i've used 'em for years &
*never* had a disc failure... not something that can be said for zips!!

right, off to ebay to pick up some more drives.

}:-)
