Re: [emax] Re: Emax II problems booting disk

2003-09-11 by capricorn

i also recently purchased an emaxII 8 meg turbo HD rack on ebay ...
listed as perfect but was much less than .. it was from puerto rico
and wasn't well taken care of but it works.....

the back side has a broken jackbut it stil works,
it was all rusted on the back side like it had sat face up in a puddle in
storage,
and had a rack ear missing ... and the volume knob was also missing ..
BUT.... it booted up on the third try from the HD
and has worked ever since .. i guess it sat for a long long time with out
being used ....
so for less than $200 i guess i can't complain to badly.

Thanks to those who have responded already.

I usually dont post in here cause the information is always so good
in the "archives". I would answer questions but i will leave that to
the experts -of which there are many- as i try to learn.

I Swapped the floppy from my Emax1 and that didn't help so that
means that its not just the floppy drive right?

I purchased on ebay and the description was "perfect working
condition" . I have emailed the seller to let him know that I am
upset. I had the opportunity to buy a 500 meg rack instead and
passed, so bad decision on my part.

So I have my shoping list a harddrive Conner 540, maybe a new teac
floppy can I install one without custom mount , an external zip for
back-ups. A new LCD. and Sample disks.

Are there any chips etc I should be checking and how in the world
would i check them to make sure they are working.

Anyone who can help me out on any or all of tha above i would
appreciate it.

Thanks again

Fergal
