RE: [emax] emax disc

2003-09-29 by Brian Ronn

Hi Kyle,

I'll recommend you to format the discs in the Emax and write the banks to the DS/DD disc from the EMX program. That'll work.

Be aware that Emx program must be run in a pure DOS box, not an emulated DOS box from windows.

Best regards

Brian

Well in the last 24 hours, I've bought DD/DS disks, and formatted them using the emx program. i put the os on from the files section of this usergroup, and this is what I get:

After booting with disk in drive the emax says "loading software" while it makes the same noise of Click click click-da-click click click click-da-click and so on and so on. I wonder if maybe the os is bad, my emax disk drive is bad or the emx prog. I dunno. If you could help that would be cool. I would buy your set for newbies as you might call it if you think it will work.

My Aol Instant Messenger s/n is DirtyMorpheus if you (Rob) or anyone else can be of assistance. Thanks for your time.

Hi,
DS/DD's are best, but HD's will work with the HD hole covered.
I can supply Emax and Emax II OS diskettes, with a sample bank, brand new
DS/DD's. But I have to charge a nominal amount as I get loads of requests.
Contact me at info@... for details.

However I am sure someone on the list will be able to supply one for free.

I didn't know if it would be appropriate to ask, but I just recently
bought an emax at a pawn shop, but it did not come with the factory disks. I
printed the manual off the net, so I suppose I'll be able to get it up and
running in a bit of a while (funny word choice there). I was just hoping
someone could help me get a new disc that I can start up with. I also
wondered if I had to use DS/DD disks or if HD discs work fine. Thanks.

  Kyle
