I have an Emax HD (non-SE) with the external scsi upgrade. This requires my SCSI ID to be at 0 to recognize a drive as many of you may already know. I purchased a zip drive that will allow me to use the SCSI ID 0 and it will Scan disk for Errors just fine, but when I try to Format a disk, it just says "Loading Software". The light comes on the Zip drive I hear some noise and the whole thing is over in about 8 seconds. After this happens I try to boot from SCSI and its a no go. I am under the impression that formatting should take a few minutes not a few seconds, so I assume my zips havent been formatted. Has anyone else experienced this? I have experimented with different termination settings. I havc experimented with different scsi ID's, although becomes painfully obvious that nothing will happen unless at ID 0. The internal hard drive is obviously disconnected for the zip to work. I have checked cables and done everything that I can think of. Will the non SE Emax HD just not work with a zip drive? Am I missing something? I can format with the same zip drive and save files fine with my MPC 60. No go with the Emax. Tell what im missing here. Thanx in advance.....
