Dear John, The floppy does definitely power up. The red light is constantly on. But it has been moved (my Emax II arrived from Germany). So I will try to open it, double check the ribbon and come back to you if the problem is still there... Otherwise, maybe I should consider purchasing one of these Emax hard disks full of sounds?...
