Re: [emax] My HD emax LIVES!! (was "iz my HD dead")

2003-11-22 by elmacaco

Heh, I'm a legend! ;-)

I'm glad this helped someone else. This makes 3 emaxes that I know of that
have used this technique instead of getting a new HD.

Nothing I know of to prevent it, I try turn it on often just in case, just
to spin the drive.

I had it happen to my rack when I drilled the hole for the scsi connector,
so I think vibration may be a trigger. I think also inactivity is the major
cause.

I haven't had it happen again, but it is good to know you can fix it.

And to think this came from my curiosity and frustration at having to buy a
new harddrive!!

Is yours a rack or keyboard?

Glad I could help.

Ed

All doubters kneel!!!! ;-)
