well, there's no way i can tell what the chip was...but on my other emaxII it had a different name- must have used different suppliers or something... (have to take it apart)as to how i fried it: i was getting WowoGowow...errors on the display so i figured the ribbon connecting the outboard must be loose, since there were no errors when it was disconnected...must have got it backwards when i plugged it back in...just goes to show that technical troubleshooting is NOT a hobby to be combined with kicking back a couple of scotches... not one of my brightest moments for sure. I 've been trying to get a hold of the service manual but the links have been dead and rob has not responded to my emails (perhaps because I was not a member of this group yet).
The service manual should have schematics and board maps that can tell you
what the chip is, then do some web searching on google to find a place to
get it.
