i recently fried my output board (the chip exploded) and i was wondering whether anyone out there could provide me with a source for a replacement (chip or full board) ie: an emaxII which doesn't work but has no known history of output board problems, or actual individual parts...if not , i would consider trading whats left for something.....

How did you fry the chip? and what is the chip called? The service manual should have schematics and board maps that can tell you what the chip is, then do some web searching on google to find a place to get it.

(have to take it apart)as to how i fried it: i was getting WowoGowow...errors on the display so i figured the ribbon connecting the outboard must be loose, since there were no errors when it was disconnected...must have got it backwards when i plugged it back in...just goes to show that technical troubleshooting is NOT a hobby to be combined with kicking back a couple of scotches... not one of my brightest moments for sure. I 've been trying to get a hold of the service manual but the links have been dead and rob has not responded to my emails (perhaps because I was not a member of this group yet).
