OT: Opening a EIIIxp?

OT: Opening a EIIIxp?

2003-12-10 by emulatorloo

Just got a EIIIxp and I think something may have gotten shaken loose in shipping. Any
tips for opening this beast up? It is not as simple as removing some screws and
sliding the top off, and looks a little more complicated than opening my Emax rack.

Have searched the archives here and searched emulatorarchive.com without finding
anything.

THANKS!

Greg

Hi,
Its quite easy - just the same as an Emax rack. The base plate comes off ,
so unscrew the machine screws around the edge. Gently lift the plate out to
one side, but remember the base plate has a PCB that is attached to the main
casing via a ribbon cable.

Regards
Rob

Rob:

Thanks! It *was* easy, once you explained it!

Unfortunately it looks like the backlight really is dead -- and I'm going to need to rig
up some way to add an internal HD. This will be a fun project though.

Again, I really appreciate the help and information.

Greg

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
