Just last night I successfully installed a Quantum ProDrive LPS 525 in my Emax II, which I ordered from Other World Computing. (http://www.macsales.com) The drive was $24.50, and I bought a 3 connecter internal SCSI cable from them for $10. They charge $5 for 2nd day FedEx Shipping. I found a web page that had the jumper settings for the drive, and I set it to SCSI ID1, parity on, and termination on. The drive did take FOREVER to format and verify - I think about an hour and a half. But it now boots off the drive, and loading banks off the drive is fast. I didn't have any way to mount the drive properly, I just shoved it underneath the floppy drive. Unfortunately, it is very loud, and I think that may be because it is vibrating against the metal shield of the floppy. There is a lot of room in the keyboard case, in fact enough to easily install another drive. Anyone have any tips on how to mount a drive in an Emax II keyboard? And also, what is involved with upgrading the power supply to support 2 internal drives? Anyone have some tips on installing a PC power supply? And, does anyone have the Emu sound library for the EmaxII they would let me borrow to load onto my drive? Todd LeValley todd.levalley@...
