Emax

I just recieved my long awaited E-mu Emax I
I have a questions that has been bothering me,any help
would be greatly aprreciated, as i love this machine

1. Will the Emax I use  1.44MB DS-DD 3.5 disk?
      (or restricted to the 720KB disk)
2. Is the SE option a software only update?
3. What will FORMAT a E-mu emax disk,cause EMX dosent.
4. I Dont have a formated  emax OS disk ,will i have
to buy one from a company?
