The original EIII and the SP-12/SP-1200 all have similar filters and sound. I've never heard
an Emulator II other than on albums so I'm not sure what it's filter sounds like.
The EIIIx, like the Emax II has digital filters, they still have some of that original punch, but
the filter isn't as smooth. The ESi series was a refinement of the EIIIx. They all sound nice,
but my ESi-32 has a distinctly more clear and crisp sound when compared to what my Emax
SE HD sounded like when I had it.
