No, I think you should be able to get a new keyboard that would
plug right in for fairly cheap. Call E-mu and ask for specifics on
what you are looking for, they might even have suggestions on
where you can get one. The suggestion made about Wine Country
Productions is a good one, though they can be fairly expensive,
they are a great place to get parts for older synths. Wine Country
was founded by ex-Sequential Circuits employees and E-mu's first
real influx of money came when they licensed a keyboard for SC to
use in their synths, so it's all related :)
