The cable is an 8-pin mini-DIN to 9 pin D-SUB.....I built my own.....just buy 2 of each end connector (about $6 for a total of 4 connectors), buy wire more than long enough to reach (typical about 26 cents a foot), and get a new tip with a small end for your soldering iron. If you get a good soldering iron (not some $10 Radio Shack junk) it will make an easier job of it. 15W soldering iron that costs around $25 is reasonable, then test doing wires and soldering to a board that is bad or something like that for practice. That is how you learn..... in the beginning that is how I had to do it... PS- the reason a more expensive soldering iron helps is this: cheap irons lose their heat and so as you solder, the iron loses strength and you either don't get a good connection, or you have to hold the iron there and it heats the plastic of the connectors (ruining the end). A good soldering iron won't lose heat as fast and cause that to happen....(solder stations won't really lose heat at all- at least noticeable to the average user) Good luck, Ted On Aug 11, 2005, at 2:02 PM, J R wrote: > I'm selling one (CABLE) with a MAC SE with Sound > Designer in original box with original disks if anyone > is interested. > > $50.00 plus shipping from Orlando FL > > > > --- gray <gray@...> wrote: > >> I think this might be the cable Im not sure what the >> RS422 looks like.... >> >> Canadian$7.95 >> >> > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > --- >> 6' Mac+ to HAYES MODEM- Mini Din 8 Male to >> DB25M- Hi-Speed CMPHM06-HS >> 6' Mac+ to HAYES MODEM- Mini Din 8 Male to >> DB25M- Hi-Speed >> >> >> gray >> ----- Original Message ----- >> From: Simon_Owen >> To: emax@yahoogroups.com >> Sent: Thursday, August 11, 2005 11:43 AM >> Subject: [emax] RS422 Cable for Emax / Mac >> connection >> >> >> Hi folks >> >> Does anyone know where it's possible to get an >> RS422 Cable for my Emax, can't find one >> anywhere and i can't solder for S**t, so if you >> know of anywhere to buy one in the UK, i'd be >> glad of some help. >> >> Cheers >> >> Simon Owen >> >> >> >> >> Emax and Emax II User's Group Website >> >> http://www.silveriafamily.com >> >> >> >> > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- > ------- >> YAHOO!
