The cable is an 8-pin mini-DIN to 9 pin D-SUB.....I built my own.....just buy 2 of each end connector (about $6 for a total of 4 connectors), buy wire more than long enough to reach (typical about 26 cents a foot), and get a new tip with a small end for your soldering iron. If you get a good soldering iron (not some $10 Radio Shack junk) it will make an easier job of it. 15W soldering iron that costs around $25 is reasonable, then test doing wires and soldering to a board that is bad or something like that for practice. That is how you learn..... in the beginning that is how I had to do it... PS- the reason a more expensive soldering iron helps is this: cheap irons lose their heat and so as you solder, the iron loses strength and you either don't get a good connection, or you have to hold the iron there and it heats the plastic of the connectors (ruining the end). A good soldering iron won't lose heat as fast and cause that to happen....(solder stations won't really lose heat at all- at least noticeable to the average user) Good luck, Ted

That is what it looks like. Whether the pinout is correct or not is another matter. If you buy the cable and it doesn't work, try using a 9 pin to 9 pin null modem adapter.... Hope this helps, Ted
