Re: Program to read EMAX disk images almost ready

2005-10-11 by esynthesist

It should work with original EMAX disks. Because even in that case
you need EMX to copy the image to the PC.
In fact, the disks themselves are all "pure EMAX" (original or not),
only the images on your PC are "EMX stuff". And when EMX writes a
disk, the disk becomes "pure EMAX" again. My program will only accept
EMX images, but that's not a problem because the original images are
simply not accessible without using EMX first...

By the way: I would love to port EMX to "non-native DOS", so that you
can use it from a DOS box in Windows instead of booting the PC in DOS-
mode. But that's not an easy thing to do because of the low-level
software code that has been used in EMX...

Anyway, regarding your question: no problem I guess !

out. You say that the images must have been made with EMX. This
might sound foolish but, does that mean it will read standard Emax II
disks or does that mean the disks had to be made with the DOS EMX
program?
