Emax

Hi all,

I just posted a zip file with a "pre-release" of the "beta version" of 
the "new EMXP software for WinXP" to the files section of this group.
You can find it here:

The EMXP_v1_91_1.ZIP file contains the new version and also a quick 
user guide and the emax floppy driver (which has been posted last year 
already).

This version has some features still disabled. In fact the older 
version of EMXP, and EMAXLIB and WAV2EMU supported more things than 
this beta-version of the new EMXP, except...
...this new version supports ZIP disks for EMAX-II (not EMAX-I !).

CAUTION:

This software is not ready yet, but I'm going on an business trip and 
on a holiday, so I wanted to share this pre-release-beta version with 
you.

I only performed one day of intensive testing, without problems 
though ... but let's be honest: you will definitely find bugs.

Therefore PLEASE don't start using EMXP for writing sound banks to 
VALUABLE EXISTING ZIP disks in your library. I strongly recommend to 
use an empty ZIP disk and test the program for a few weeks / months 
before really trusting it !
There's also a backup/restore feature for ZIP disks included. But this 
is a beta version too :-)

Oh by the way: it's still the old DOS look & feel, but heavily menu / 
select list driven this time.
