Re: [emax] Emax vs. Emax HD power supply for internal zip

2006-06-28 by gray

You are putting a internal PC Zip100 in the rack.......Its 5Vs dont know how much room
is in the E rack....but the int. power supply might make more heat....I might get a
used 200w computer power supply and make a plug to go into the E rack....to the zip
if this is a studio rack not a road....unit....but if in a road rack that would be ok to.

Most electronic equipment is designed for specific
components in the system. I would not recommend you
try to adapt the unit since you are not taking into
consideration things such as ripple/noise. The long
term effects of foreign equipment into the system. My
advise is to make it simple. Enclose the external
powersupply into the emax unit. Tap into the line
current (before it enteres the Emax P/S). Mount it
inside, this way you only have one plug without
tapmering with the Emax's DC currents.
