Hi, see message 3359 and before. This question is quite a popular one... In short: - Try to find a DSDD floppy disk (720K in DOS) - Make sure your PC has an internal floppy drive (not USB) Option 1: - Use EMX (MS DOS), EMXP (WinXP) or OmniFlop (WinXp) to format the disk for EMAX - Download the OS from the files section or from www.emulatorarchive.com - Write the OS to the floppy disk using EMX or EMXP. Option 2: - Download one of the CopyQM packages from the files section of this group - Use this CopyQM (MS DOS) package to format & write the OS to the floppy disk Hints: - Do not run EMX or CopyQM from a Windows DOS box, it will make a corrupt disk ! You have to boot the PC in DOS (startup disk...) - A lot of EMAX-I sampler floppy drives have a slightly different calibration compared to PC drives. EMX-formatted disks or disks formatted by EMXP using the *standard EMXP floppy driver* might not be recognized by EMAX-I samplers. Use CopyQM, EMXP with OmniFlop driver or OmniFlop software itself to format the disk if you want to avoid these problems. ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "K Whidden" <kbwhidden@...> wrote: > > Hello, > I recently picked up an Emax I rack sampler from a yard sale.
