Just try it, add the scsi connector and see what's good.   You could also 
just test it with an internal scsi drive and a ribbon cable with an extra 
connector, instead of drilling.

I think the display board should be fine, what do the capacitors connect?  
it's all data so I don't think there should be much trouble.

I am just guessing here, but check your power supply voltages, and if they 
are off or wobbly see if the emax II PSU can be temp swapped.

they should be very similar since it is the last emax I version.
