It didn't work. If I turn on the emax without a floppy inserted, then I insert a disk when asked for one and press load, It fools itself into thinking that HD 1.1 OS is loaded. I can then see the contents of the hard drive but it won't load any of it. I then tried to "copy software" or use any other function and it reads "different software rev". It'll run scan disk in this mode but it says the hard disk is ok. I tried loading the HD 1.1 OS from emulatorarchive but it won't read the floppy disk and seizes up. The emax will read floppies if I boot from a floppy with OS 3.2 and it'll occasionally let me tweak the paramaters but I can't save them. Sometimes it won't let me get into any other screens. what's your prognosis Doctor?

A reformat isn't necessary, the Emax contains a"copy software" function. It is designed
to copy newer OSs onto media (hard drives, floppies) without erasing the bank data.
Use this function, it's in Master somewhere, to copy the Emax HD 1.1 OS onto the hard
drive and onto any floppies you have that don't have the HD OS on it. Then you should
be able to boot to the hard drive and access all the floppies too.
I do wonder, have you made sure that the banks are still on the hard drive? If you ran
the "hidden" hard drive diagnostics on the hard drive then the hard drive should have
been wiped clean.
