I had E-mu replace my Miniscribe drive with a Seagate drive back in 1990, unfortunately at the time I was very technically uninformed and I never thought to find out what Seagate drive it was. My Emax unit was from Seagate, they had one for developing the internal SCSI for the unit and they provided a new drive when the Miniscribe failed. This drive was slower than the Miniscribe, but it lasted for the 8 years I had the unit and as far as I know still works fine for the new owner. E-mu did inform me that there was a 40Mb Seagate that would work for storing banks, but not for booting the unit. That information could be wrong or I could have had a different Seagate drive.
