Mike- I think you are missing the point. I paid $300 for an EMAX i with no HD from an owner I knew about 6yrs ago. It may have gone for $600 then. They typically go for $250-400 now even in good condition. Known working. So the pawn shop has it priced too high to begin with. You should make it known to them the true street value, then pursue the "but it doesn't work, so on ebay those go for $50 or $75, etc...." Be ready to back it up with some expired auction papers off ebay for known working and known broken units and your good to go. As to the disk- use EMXP and create a floppy with files from the group. Plenty of people have done that. There are people who will make a disk for you, but may charge you $10-25....
