Try writing the image to /dev/fd0u800 rather.

Sounds as if you run Linux. So you could use the following script:

with the file emaxos.emx from the images subdirectory:

There is also a script to write banks to floppy.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
