Well- I have been seeing the LCD's pretty regularly on ebay for about  
$23 + shipping. I paid $15 for mine, but special ordered and it took  
3 months. So if you see one on ebay, I would get it.

I would say you would want to wait until you can see what is  
happening (os loading, etc) before proceeding with other stuff.....

just my opinion.
