This could be an issue with the two drives each being dirtu or out of alignment causing 
the discs to not read on the other. Get a floppy cleaning kit and try thoroughly cleaning 
both drives first. I myself have never had an issue with EMX EXCEPT that tricky 
formatting function which has never seemed to work even during my days on a 486sx 
running Win 3.x
