Emax and Compact Flash -Please read it all if you want to do this!!!!!

OK- So I am taking the plunge.....

The desired setup is to have the floppy and the CF adapter.
Additionally, since it is silly to buy huge CF when 32MB is big
enough, and CF 32MB on ebay you pay about $10 each, I am going to do
this:

Get SD flash and pc card adapter as I got 10x 32MB SD compatible
Transflash (with the SD adapters) for about $15. That will meet all
my emax needs (I hope).

So far I have bought off ebay:
ACARD SCSI /IDE Converter $17 (buy it now included the shipping) -
used but worked fine.

IDE to CF adapter as per other post that has a faceplate, etc....
PCCARD to CF adapter ----- these two were same seller so total was
$30 including the shipping.

10 x Transflash w/adapter $15 including shipping.

PCCARD to SD adapter $17 with ship.

So I got everything but the PCCARD to SD adapter....

Put the CF together and all tested OK. But floppy and CF Adapter
won't both fit in the space. So I thought about rigging it up (making
brackets, cutting etc).

Then I changed my mind. I am going to get Slim Floppy (like for
laptops - $10 plus ship), and a Slim floppy converter ($7.33 with
shipping and insurance). Then both will fit in the slot on front of
emax. the best of both worlds- Floppy, CF / SD (hopefully), and no
hacking or destruction of emax case, etc.....

So- you may ask- why am I bothering to send this email?

Because
1) All items I am buying the Sellers have more of.... or at least
they did when I post this. Additionally, I bet they can get more.....
2) I will supply links to items as of when project is complete (next
weekend hopefully) so you can buy same if desired without hunting for
it (assuming all is still available), and know you should get a good
set of items.
3) I will provide pictures to modify the SLIM floppy drive for use in
emax (if it works). (No offense to route66, and without the other
item (CF adapter), you would have a big hole in front of the emax.....

Additionally, I will then have a regular height floppy that I
replaced into emax with very little use so far, and a bracket for
sale if someone needs one for emax that isn't going through all this
CF trouble.....

Regards,
Ted
