No. Not only would it not write but more than likely it couldn't use the drive at all. The Emax II doesn't work with many modern peripherals and I believe the fastest CD-Rom drive you can get to work is a few of the Quad speed ones. For the most part you should stick to single and double speed Mac compatible CD-Rom drives.
