Guys--Im in NZ Emax HD I bought has not got an external SCSI port--would my best bet be to buy a brand new floppy drive from Route 66 for USD$75 thanks Dave ----- Original Message ---- From: Mike Wolak <mikewolak@...> To: emax@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, 16 September, 2008 6:39:43 AM Subject: Re: [emax] Re: Emax 1 service techs in USA (Unit powers on but won't go past the emu diagnostics menu) You can't set an external zip to 0, only id's 5 or 6. However you could buy and internal scsi zip + external enclosure and set that to 0. If your floppy drive is not working this wont do you any good since you wont be able to boot the floppy to format the zip. Your best bet is to get the floppy drive working than investage booting from a scsi drive, either the internal drive or the aformentioned zip. --- On Mon, 9/15/08, jammie <jammie.emma@ blueyonder. co.uk> wrote: > From: jammie <jammie.emma@ blueyonder. co.uk> > Subject: Re: [emax] Re: Emax 1 service techs in USA (Unit powers on but won't go past the emu diagnostics menu) > To: emax@yahoogroups. com > Date: Monday, September 15, 2008, 2:22 PM > buy a scsi external zip drive and a internal to 50 > centronics external adapter and fit it to the back of the > emax then you can format it to 20mb > > download the operating system and put it on floppy the > programs for this is in the files section then you can > format the scsi drive make shure that it is set to scsi id 0 > then it will boot from this drive > ----- Original Message ----- > From: David > To: emax@yahoogroups. com > Sent: Monday, September 15, 2008 7:09 PM > Subject: [emax] Re: Emax 1 service techs in USA (Unit > powers on but won't go past the emu diagnostics menu) > > > > On 14/09/2008, at 9:22 AM, David wrote: > > > Hi Im the proud owner of two 8 Meg Emax 2 keyboards > and love those > > > > I just bought an Emax HD rack off Ebay > > > http://cgi.ebay. com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll?ViewItem& item=16028260114 4 > > > > and would like to get this serviced in US or some > pointers as to > > what parts might be faulty > > Maybe harddrive and floppy drive--is there any known > replacement > > hard drive for Emax HD > > > > thanks in advance > > Dave > > > > > > > > > ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- - > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.526 / Virus Database: 270.6.21 - Release > Date: 9/11/2008 12:00 AM > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
