Hi I'm not sure about any of these machines, but note that Sound Designer II requires a DSP card (like AudioMedia II) installed in the Mac. SDII works fine with the Emax-II here on a Centris 650 with audiomedia card. The same is true for Alchemy 3 but it can't communicate with the Emax-II on my Powerbook 180C. It's just the other way around for my Emulator II: SoundDesigner for EII on the Powerbook works fine, but on the Centris 650 it doesn't. Alchemy doesn't require any DSP card to be installed in the Mac. Another important remark: none of these software packages is able to load/unload banks to/from the Emax-II. Only the samples can be transferred, and Alchemy does a better job than SDII because it can transfer all samples with one mouse-click. The only software which was able to load/unload full banks was Sound Designer for Emax, but even this one is not capable of doing this on the Emax-II: the Mac will freeze with an Emax-II, but it works fine with an Emax-I. ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "bty54193247" <goodrobot@...> wrote: > > Hello all, > > I've just bought a couple of very, very cheap Mac's on Ebay.
