This is great advice my fellow Emaxer is giving you............
I too have save two drives by cleaning them, but did it without removing them by using a drive cleaning kit from Office Depot.
It has a disk with a kind of fabric disk inside that you drop the alcohol cleaning solution it comes with onto the fabric..................run it a few times by trying to LOAD the disk and it just might come around without any disassembly.

Take out your floppy drive and clean it with some contact cleaner. I
just saved 2 Emax flippy drives that way.
