Thanx for the tip. Will try that before declaring it dead.

I wouldn't assume the Echip is dead.
I think that assumption has been made WAY too many times resulting in
scrapped Emaxes.
But what is needed to test is a working Emax unit, and move the echip
to the working unit to test it.
Also, that would be true of the MPU and other hard to find IC's- test
one chip at a time in a working unit.
I thought I had a dead rack unit, but found the Echip wasn't bad. It
was one of the other replaceable supporting chips.
But it gave me the readout of a dead Echip....
Just my 2 cents for what it is worth.

Ted

have tried to source some from emu but they say they destroyed the
last of them shame it was the same with ensoniq they just got ride of
there special chips when they were brought out and closing down
factory some bits were sold but most was just skiped
all the other parts are good for spares as the filter chips are rare
and most other parts you can get over the counter at electronic stores
or equivalent upgrade components the mother board will be of use as
will the analog board and the display panel also the switches are of
use as they dont make them any more
i would like to buy it for the community for spare parts send me a
private message of topic as we dont want to clog the forum with the
negotiation

with a good echip or you can sell it for spares im always on the look
out for spares as i repair them so if you want to sell give me first
shout as i want to keep emaxes alive and if i can do that with
replacement parts all the better

14 years ago. So it's been a while since I got a "new" sampler.

But I really would like to get it started!

suggest something wrong with the E-chip - or am I not reading it
correctly??? Can someone please help me or tell me it's dead or so...
