>>This has been covered b4 probably but i just noticed the seup file is 800kb and i thought emax's only formatted to standard 720kb? The file works when the disk is created with Emaxutil. That is all I can say. >> how do i create a dos6.22 boot disk on floppy from windows vista? I just do it, I can't explain it. It has never been difficult for me. >>(ive tried it on cd and it says driver missing). Is it the whole fat32 ntfs thing? to make a bootable dos CD you have to load in a CD driver into config.sys and autoexec.bat It can be a pain to make one , but can be done. CDs are not ntfs or fat32, there are a different type (High Sierra FS or Rockridge or something like that). >>Other question is which floppy drives can you use in the emax. I think i might have to make some jumper adjustments or even cut the cable and do a bit of swapping. Ive read that the sony mpf920 works and the other question is... which one (mpf920-e -f z/121) The jumpers on the model I had were SMT, so had to be soldered. And they changed the board after that rev, so I dunno if you can still do that mod. But you should be able to modify a floppy cable by matching Schugart floppy pinouts to PC floppy pinouts, cut some of the wires in the ribbon and cross wire as needed. It will leave a gap, but it is what it is. Or if you have an internal SCSI Zip or CF you can get a slim floppy and one of my converters. You still need to cover the hole, but I have never had any problem with my slim floppy drives and HD disks for samples. Regards, Ted [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
