Re: [emax] Emax II RIP?

Sounds like a plan. Thanks.

I assume that any electronic contact cleaner will do if the brand names over here are different?

get some deoxit and remove all socketed ic 1 at a time deoxing each ic pin then reseating the ic chips this will usually sort every thing out

and if it still plays up then you need to overhaul your psu

  Subject: [emax] Emax II RIP?

  Hi all,

My Emax II keyboard seems to have had it.

When I turn it on, all of the LEDs flash and click. I have not left it on
long enough to see what happens next. The actual catalyst for this seems to
have been that I moved the keyboard stand slightly so I could get to the
  plugs at the back.

I opened it up and nothing appears obviously loose or burnt. I removed the
spade connectors connecting the power supply to the wall, and removed a
small amount of corrosion. I also removed and reseated the other power
  supply connectors.

Just to see what would happen, I disconnected the hard disk.

None of the above made any difference, so my Emax II is in very large paper
  weight mode.

This happened once before, and then stopped on its own. That time it was
also immediately after moving it, so it would appear there is something
  loose.

Has anyone encountered this and have an idea what it might be?

  Thanks,

  D.
