Am I right in thinking that some Emax IIs shipped with Switch mode PSUs?.. that's what this sounds like to me, a switch mode PSU not firing up to the correct voltage. Often the case when the startup caps dry out. This will usually manifest itself by a stuttering flow of power on and off, hence the light and the clicking sound If you are handy with a soldering iron, the startup caps are relatively easy to find and replace on most switch mode PSUs Check which PSU yours has though --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "Daniel Baum" <daniel@...> wrote: > > Hi Ted, > > Do you mean on the power supply itself or behind the power chord connector? > > I could easily replace the spade connectors behind the power cord connector. > The only thing that I'm not sure about is whether the wires are long enough. > > Replacing the connectors on the power supply sounds more involved (for me) > > The first thing to do I suppose is check for resistance in the power supply > wires and see whether power is getting through (?) > > Rgds, > > D. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ted Summers" <djtbs1@...> > To: <emax@yahoogroups.com> > Sent: Friday, November 06, 2009 4:20 PM > Subject: Re: [emax] Re: Emax II RIP? > > > > My Emax 1 rack did similar and it was the connection to the AC "in" on > > the power supply. > > 1 leg of the AC wasn't getting through.
