The keys are in a matrix on Emax 1, if Emax 2 is similar it could be the ICs that interface to that section of the matrix or a single connection that is common to all the keys and one connection for all the panel buttons...... I don't have a schematic at work to check at the moment..... no Keanu / red pill related jokes, please...... Just a thought.
