      This could also be a shorted out pathway. I had this issue and used emery cloth to sand down the insulator over the pathway, cleaned the pathway and sealed it. For me this repaired the critical middle C range of keys. You may need complete the circuit if the pathway is extremely damaged or broken. Great thing about old tech is it is macro and not micro circuitry, and easy to repair. Don't forget to disconnect the keyboard from the rest of the unit. That way if you have some static build-up or otherwise cause problems, you won't kill the all important ICs.

There are two keys on my Emax 1 that no longer work although I can still access the notes via midi. Has anyone had a similar problem and been able to fix it?
