Yes, sure: the SCSI kit from Ted, combined with the PCD-50B allows The Emax to boot from CF card. Ted is also selling a small board which allows you to install a "laptop" sized floppy drive on top of the CF drive. Both of them together fit in the original floppy drive hole in the front panel. I have this set up, but to be honest, I'm not using the floppy drive anymore :-) ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "dutchbeats" <dutchbeats@...> wrote: > > Thanks! I will buy a kit and floppy converter as soon as i fix the lcd and also will get that flash drive from psi. IC6 is empty and the boot ROM is 24-pin IP349 and IC49 is IP344. Time to start learning how to solder. > > Just curious, I don't mind booting from disk but can it be set to access the os from the flash for the functions? That's the main reason I want a flash drive so that it doesn't keep accessing the floppy while I'm using it. > > Cheers! > > > > > --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Ted Summers <djtbs1@> wrote: > > > > Rev2 means it can be upgraded to SCSI, if it doesn't have it already (is IC6 by the SCSI connector populated? if not, you would have to get a kit). > > Then you could add a CF drive. > > You can get a PCD-50b here: > > http://psism.com/scsi50band60b.htm > > > > You can get a replacement floppy or change to a slim floppy using a converter PCB.... > > > > To replace the LCD, you remove the main logic and then the button panel PCB.
