Ooops. Be careful, a few weeks ago I connected the SCSIForSamplers drive again to my EIII and did some extensive testing, and to be honest it had problems - the EIII could not (always) save banks to the CF card, neither the OS. This drive uses that old R-IDSC-E/R board; I was going to replace it by the Acard 7720U now. The drive works fine however on the Emax-II. It doesn't work on the Emax-I. ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "dutchbeats" <dutchbeats@...> wrote: > > on the eiii forum esynthesist(hey!) said that the R-IDSC-E/R works with > the eiii as long as it has the earlier 1.28 firmware, maybe also emax? > also what about the yamaha V769970? > > > --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "jammie" <jammie.emma@> wrote: > > > > yes but be aware not all ide to scsi works with emax > > > > the scsi cards used in the akai are the idsc 2/r and dont work with > emax or ensoniq the 7720u work with emaxes but dont with ensoniqs > > > > the idsc 2/r work with kurzweils with out latency > > > > but the acards and the iscde12 work with kursweils but have a 5 > seconds latency will trying to access drives andf folders and samples > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: dutchbeats > > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > > Sent: Saturday, October 09, 2010 6:29 PM > > Subject: [emax] Re: Heeere's Emax! > > > > > > > > do you think the special mcp 2000xl scsi upgrade kit they sell is > just an ide to scsi bridge though? it probably costs 70 dollars i'm > guessing, bringing the total price back up to the normal cf drive price > d'oh! > > > > --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "jammie" jammie.emma@ wrote: > > > > > > the mpc cf ide drive you can buy direct from manufacturer they are > $50 the company is apro > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: dutchbeats > > > To: emax@yahoogroups.com > > > Sent: Saturday, October 09, 2010 4:32 AM > > > Subject: [emax] Re: Heeere's Emax! > > > > > > > > > > > > all of this just to save 40 dollars by not going to > scsiforsamplers! the cf drives there are 'currently' $139 but they also > sell an mpc 2000xl cf drive for $69 since it the mpc uses ide already. > therefore there is no acard 77xx type connection in it and doesn't cost > twice as much, but, he offers an upgrade kit if you have an mpc with the > cf drive already you can get this kit and it (if i'm guessing correctly) > will contain the acard bridge. for some reason i'm thinking this drive > will work with emax with the 'kit'. > > > > > > but i'd have to pretend i have an mpc that's the only catch...lol > > > > > > --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Ted Summers <djtbs1@> wrote: > > > > > > > > The acard- perhaps but you would need to convert from 68pin to > 50 pin. > > > > The ide cannot say- maybe, maybe not- since it is a laptop IDE > it would also need to be converted to plug in to the acard.... > > > > > > > > Seems kind of kludge-y to me- a total of 4 pieces to make the > connection... > > > > > > > > > > > > On Oct 8, 2010, at 8:03 PM, dutchbeats wrote: > > > > > > > > > http://www.addonics.com/products/flash_memory_reader/ad44midecf.asp > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------- > > > > > > > > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > > > Version: 8.5.448 / Virus Database: 271.1.1/3183 - Release Date: > 10/07/10 18:34:00 > > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------\ > ------ > > > > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > > Version: 8.5.448 / Virus Database: 271.1.1/3186 - Release Date: > 10/09/10 06:34:00 > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > >
