It is possible the 8MB EEPROM image did not work in your 1MB Emax II
because the base RAM is different. It would be interesting if you
could get a 3, 5 or 7MB EEPROM image to try. I think the EEPROM must
also store the configuration of the sampling hardware because when the
EEPROM had a problem being read on my Emax II with 8MB and stereo
sampling it would only allow mono sampling and reported 2MB of RAM.
