Re: Got another Emax.... working screen this time

Congratulation on that, nice price.

Anyone on the board is invited to correct me, but I believe you can remove the SE upgrade on the newly purchases Emax, and install it into the HD version you had, giving you an SE HD, or a Plus.

If the board in the HD has the upgrade socket, it should be fine. After that, you will need to install the SE software upgrade. That may or may not be a challenge. I know the files for that are available online, although I've never tested them myself (I have 1 SE, and one SE HD. Both racks).

Here is a link to the emulator archives' OS list, so you'll know what OS you need:

And here is a link to my server with all of the OS versions, including the SE upgrade. But as I said, I have not tested the SE upgrade myself.

I purchased the 2 Emax racks, as well as a separate digital board, just to put together a single working Emax SE HD. The second Emax was supposed to be a SE HD with a bad power supply, purchased from ebay. It wasn't. It was only an SE, and it wasn't the power supply that was bad either. The seller was nice, though, and he refunded my money, minus shipping, and let me keep the rack. So I know how you feel, swapping parts and all.

Good luck.

It needed a floppy drive so I swapped in the one from the first Emax so that's sorted. But it seems that the HD OS disk I have will not run the SE Emax. Anyone have the SE OS available? I'd love to finally have a working Emax! This one is *MINT* with original box, packaging materials and manual. Unbelievable! Just need that SE OS disk..
