i have a powerbook G3 wallstreet, it doesnt send stuff thru RS422, does the same than you...
i guess you'll have to buy an older powerbook, as said by E-Synthesist, for some
great compatibility the best is really mac SE, or SE/30 (this model is much faster than the SE)
