right the dac runs on its own power regulators check these 7805 and 7905
+5volts from the 7805

-5volts from the 7905 check you are getting the correct voltage if not the
dac wont work check the bypass caps on these power regs

it sound like the cvdac is at fualt its been a common fualt on the emax1

so that any control data being pan volume filter cutoff resonance dont
have
any effect

the cv dac send 0-5v control voltages to the 4051 multiplexer sample and
holds 
theres 1 for volume 
1 for filter cuttoff
1for resonanvce 
1 for the panning
1 for vca

if the cvdac goes then you wont get any voltage to these sample and holds
so
that when you apply the volume slider there wont be any voltage to the
input
so none will be applied to the outputs

the volume does not vary more maximum input sample does not work the gain
levels and maximum
if anyone has an idea that chip does not work IC5 ?? or IC ??

What is wrong with yours? did you contact Jammie and see if he can fix it/
what cost it would be?
