I am installing a slim floppy drive and PCD-50b into an Emax HD (non SE) rack, model #1021, serial # 028541, CPU PCB PC 333 Rev A. The Emax HD can see the slim floppy drive, also load and save without issues. The Emax HD appears to see PCD-50b (the proper LED turns on when requested) however, it will not complete a format of the PCMCIA CF card. After about 5 minutes or so (depending on what size of CF card that I use) it displays a message saying "scsi hardware error". I tested with 2 PCD-50b's that I own. Both units will display the same error and both are definitely flashed for read/write access. The only jumper on each is the termination jumper. I have tried multiple CF cards, scsi cables, PCMCIA adapters and all give the same error. This is all done via the internal SCSI cable. For this sampler I am using Emax HD OS 1.1. Do I need to install the external kit for this to work or do I need to upgrade my Emax to a Plus or something? I assuming that this might have something to do with the original Connor HD being only 20mb's perhaps? If I need to provide more info, please let me know. Any guidance is greatly appreciated, Regards, -s*
