honestly I dont know for sure that you can put an internal drive in a emax, Im pretty sure you can. You could tell pretty quick by taking the cover off and seeing if there is a power supply and a 50 pin scci cable connector located near the internal floppy drive. On the emax II the power suppy and connector were right there, all I had to do was un -band the power supply so I would reach the drive I put in. Incidently, radio shack sells a pc board type holder that is copper colored and a little wider than I cd Jewel box. This would act as a good HD holder to mount the drive to, youd have to drill 4 holes in the plate to hold it inside the EMAX. it sells for around $5 and again it is copper colored. I did infact use a cd jewel box with drilled holes, but I bought the radio shack contraption intending to one day switch it out.
