Bank error could be corrupt bank or corrupt HD catalog. You could: boot from floppy format HD and see if it completes. if it fails, the HD may be failing. Simply inserting a floppy with OS and turning on the machine should boot from the floppy. Emax uses DSDD floppy. best to use DSDD, but if you don't have any- then cover the hole (not the write protect hole, the other one) and it will trick the floppy drive to believe it is DSDD. If you don't have a boot floppy, then make one before formatting the HD...
