thats a very bad bodge and you will eventually ruin your floppy or floppy controller

please dont do stupid things like this or give advise on bad practice

this is a professional forum with highly professional users

if you cant do some thing ask the right people

as for this persons advice its tosh and not very good for the forum

tell people how to use there machines properly please

otherwise keep your bodges to yourself then if you damage your machine its your fualt and no one elses

but when you tell other people to do it and there machine breaks then that is your fualt so dont publish this type of info any more

thankyou

This works for me: --Try to boot the OS floppy and pull it out before the
boot is finished. Then the Emax II will search for the files it needs and
if the HD you have has the OS on it, it will find the OS and boot from the
HD then you'll be good for awhile. This works for me every time I have the
issue. Probably a glitch in older EmaxII's vs. newer. Other than that verify
you have the OS installed on the HD. This may also be associated with a
slower than required POST for the HD so the EMAX II doesn't recognize itself
as having an HD attached. By putting the floppy in you delay the time that
EMAX II giving it more time to assess there is a HD attached.

  GOOD luck,

  Hi All

I have an Emax II which will only boot from floppy, despite setting the boot
  ID differently in the System.
It will happily read the HD and all the banks on it, but will only boot from
  floppy.
I have tried other HDs but still no joy.. is this likely to be a boot ROM
issue?.. can this be easily fixed?..

  Simon
